Sofia is the capital city of Bulgaria. As one of the oldest cities not only in Bulgaria and the whole Balkans, Sofia and its surroundings may offer a number of notable cultural and historical monuments. In the city there are very many museums in which it was collected abundant information - from historical, in botanical to natural-scientific. One of the most interesting places in Sofia is the Presidency, the place that is busy in every season of the year. I find it very interesting when you get there .. quite nearby there are many sights, such as: the square of the Unknown Soldier, where each year on February 19 noted feast of Vasil Levski, Temple-Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, which is also one of the popular attractions and more others. When you go to the Presidency, you will notice Guards, facing the door and give presidential honors. For interval of 15 minutes they marched and switch places like dolls, and every Wednesday at the beginning of the month is holding a Ceremonial Changing of the Guards. You can also make a picture with guards - this will be very interesting .. If you go behind the presidency will come across Roman ruins and remains of St. George Church.

Sveta Nedelya Church is located in the center of the city . It is the largest church in Sofia and is most preferred for wedding ceremonies. There are particularly weddings on weekends. The church is near the Sheraton Hotel, near many restaurants, cafes and Vitosha Boulevard. Alexander Nevsky Memorial Shrine is one of the emblems of the city. Beautiful, majestic, it is also the largest temple in the country. You can also visit the Temple of Saint Sofia, the Zoo, the National Natural Science Museum and many others museums. Church of Saint Petka Samardjiiska is located in the center of the city . It was built in XI century, but there is a crypt inside it, which is much older than the church. Inside it you can see extraordinary murals. According to the statements in this church is buried Vasil Levski.

In the town surroundings there are many monasteries and churches. During the Renaissance this area is called the coincidence Little Mount Athos. Any enthusiast can visit Dragalevski monastery, St. Mother of Vitosha, Boyana Church, Bistritza Monastery, St. Petka, Kremikovtzi Monastery, St. George, St. Spas Monastery Lozen and many others. Mountain Vitosha is located near Sofia. Natural Park Vitosha is the first in Bulgaria and on the Balkans. There are many huts. The first hut was "Aleko". After it is Selimitsa, "Kumata", "Tintyava", "Edelweiss", "Maiden rock" and many others. Vitosha has some lift and 6 ski - tracks. In Vitosha is situated also cave Duhlata.

Sofia has a sufficient number of luxury, first class and lower class hotels, residences and tourist hostels. Five-star hotels are "Grand Hotel Sofia", "Sheraton", "Kempinski Zografski", "Hilton", "Radisson", "Hrankov" and four stars are "Sofia Princess Hotel", "Rodina", "Maria Luisa", "TBS Ambassador", "Gloria Palace".
